Micro Man Cave 2.0

It’s been more than two years since I made the move north to Sapporo. Though much has changed, the climate and size of the population in particular, Japan is still a place prone to miniaturization. Apartments will always be small so space needs to be optimized. My Micro Man Cave had to be relocated from a bookshelf in Yokohama to its new digs on a storage ledge which overlooks our dining area.

A bit hard to see from the ground, but boost yourself up on a chair and be prepared to be whisked away to a magical world of micro-nano awesomeness. I’ve packed this Mico Man Cave iteration with a nanoblock menagerie and architectural showcase for the ages. There’s rabbits, schnauzers, lions, poodles, crocodiles, giraffes, and many other colorful critters from Kawada. I have Big Ben, Sapporo’s Tokei Dai, Kinkakuji, and Kaminarimon all nestled between a Muji wooden block old Edo style town. An to top it off I’ve added an intricate paper samurai, Japanese castle, and a Dutch windmill.  Of course my extensive Hanafuda collection is lost somewhere inside all this creative chaos, as well as some hidden gems that even surprise me at times (even though I put them there!)
