Too many of us use the web in a passive manner, never really learning how all the information we absorb from it is actually transmitted to us. Everyone needs to educate themselves about this immensely powerful tool, the Internet (and computers in general), and take greater ownership of it so we don't become controlled by it. has its origins in a hosted blog of the same name. Using the modest but powerful Raspberry Pi (a small credit card sized kit computer) as a web server and learning HTML, CSS, PHP(etc, etc...) as we go; hopefully this site can help shed some light on the basics of web administration and Linux operating systems. My blog will also continue, tying together topics as diverse as urban design, book reviews, DIY, personal sketches, and the occasional rant.
